  • You’ve probably seen the strawberries in Special K cereal and this product is very much like those. In most cases, the strawberries and blueberries found in dry cereals are freeze dried. They are a crisp, crunchy and flavorful treat. They contain all the nutritional values of fresh strawberries with no added sugar or preservatives. They make a great snack to put in a backpack on the trail or in kids' lunches. While the bags don’t sound like they contain a lot of product, you have to remember that it takes about 12 ounces of fresh ripe strawberries to make 1.5 oz of freeze dried. You can add water to reconstitute the strawberries for recipes but you can also grind them up dry and use the resulting powder in your favorite smoothie. For best results, we recommend you keep the bag tightly sealed after opening and store the product out of direct sunlight.
  • Oh, my! This is one my favorites and one of our best sellers. Even if you don't like pineapple, we think you'll love the freeze dried version. You won’t be able to stop eating it. It doesn’t have any added sugar so you don’t have any extra calories but the freeze dried version still has the wonderful flavor the freeze-drying process brings out. You can grind them up and use them in your favorite smoothie. We include note below about how to store the product to get the maximum shelf-life, but we should probably include a warning instead because after opening a bag of these, maximum shelf-life will not be an issue! For best results, we recommend you keep the bag tightly sealed after opening and store the product out of direct sunlight.
  • We use a sweet dark cherry to freeze dry. They are a little firmer to the tooth than some of our other fruits because of the pre-existing sweetness within the fruit. I believe the freeze-drying process brings out the cherry flavor more. Everyone trying them loves them, even if they previously didn’t like cherries! For best results, we recommend you keep the bag tightly sealed after opening and store the product out of direct sunlight.
  • Our apples are hand cut and prepared for freeze drying without further processing.  Some packages have the peel left on and in other packages the peel is removed. The peel has most of the nutrients but some people just don’t the peel and this way you can choose your own favorite. Extra care is taken to keep the apples from turning brown without adding chemicals. Occasionally, it may be necessary to use a little bit of lemon juice to retain the color, but even when we use lemon juice, we minimize the amount to let the natural apple flavor shine through. While the browning of the apples will not change the taste or the nutritional value, it’s just not always pretty. Freeze dried apples make a wonderful snack for family members lunches or a bedtime snack. You don’t have to worry about keeping healthy snacks in the house with a bag of freeze-dried apples around. For best results, we recommend you keep the bag tightly sealed after opening and store the product out of direct sunlight.
  • Freeze dried bananas (some people call them banana chips) are a healthy and delicious snack. They retain their nutritional value after freeze drying and some people think freeze dried bananas are more flavorful than a raw banana. They are wonderful eaten right out of the bag. You can also reconstitute them and use in your favorite recipe such as banana pudding. Other ways I like to eat them is with peanut butter between two like a cookie. I also eat them on ice cream or in cereal. If I ate oatmeal, I’d try them on that. They are good reconstituted and made into banana bread. Fresh bananas go bad so quickly this is a great way to keep them on hand all the time.  You can use them in your favorite smoothie. Freeze dried bananas have a very long shelf-life, though in the spirit of full disclosure, I admit they don’t usually last long enough to worry about that! For best results, we recommend you keep the bag tightly sealed after opening and store the product out of direct sunlight.
