We use a sweet dark cherry to freeze dry. They are a little firmer to the tooth than some of our other fruits because of the pre-existing sweetness within the fruit. I believe the freeze-drying process brings out the cherry flavor more. Everyone trying them loves them, even if they previously didn’t like cherries!
For best results, we recommend you keep the bag tightly sealed after opening and store the product out of direct sunlight.

A cherry is the fruit of a family of fruit trees that include plums, peaches, nectarines, apricots and almonds. Native to the North American temperate regions, the neotropics of South America, and the paleotropics of Asia and Africa, 430 different species have been identified and classified. In the United States, most sweet cherries are grown in Washington, California, Oregon, Wisconsin, and Michigan. Raw sweet cherries are 82% water, 16% carbohydrates, 1% protein, and negligible amounts of fat.
